Swydo appeared to be a suitable tool for reporting and analytics in my digital marketing business. However, unclear pricing, unexpected cost increases, difficulties with cancellation, and manipulative tactics left me disappointed. Consider other options if you value transparency and fairness.
As a business owner in the digital marketing field, having an efficient tool for reporting and analytics is crucial. Initially, I thought Swydo would meet these needs. Unfortunately, my experience with the software was far from satisfactory. Below, I detail the issues I encountered and why I wouldn’t recommend Swydo.
Unclear Pricing Structure
Misleading Monthly Costs
When I first signed up for Swydo, the advertised price was $49 a month. This seemed reasonable for the services offered. However, my costs unexpectedly jumped to $364 without any prior warning.
Hidden Fees
The root of the problem lay in Swydo’s pricing model, which bases charges on data sources rather than data connections. The $49.00 a month pricing is for 10 data sources and when you log into the platform is very easy to find your data connection area and I only had 9, single, data connections and believe that I was fine under the monthly plan.

The only problem was, they don’t charge on this screen, they charge based on how many data sources you connect to within the data connections and then they don’t tell you when you go above your current plan until you are billed. When my plan moved from 49 dollars to 329 and then to 364, ther was no notifications, messages, emails, pop ups, etc., saying, that they were moving my account up to the next billing level.
Issues with Cancellation
Difficult Process
When I noticed this issue with their billing practices I decided to cancel the service, but it was anything but straightforward. Despite trying to cancel just one day into a new billing period, Swydo refused to cycle the next months billing cycle saying they bill in arrears and said I will now have to pay the same amount for the next month. I message back that I believed this was a shady practice and this takes us to the next topic…
Manipulative Tactics
During the cancellation process, Swydo offered to waive the next bill if I agreed to leave a “nice” review on Capterra for them. This felt manipulative and added to my frustration with the company and which has resulted in the writing of this posts to help other people avoid this company. I wonder how many times they have done this to other people.

The Importance of Transparency
Informed Decisions
Customers should always be informed before any billing changes or price increases. Transparency is essential for a fair and honest relationship between the service provider and the customer.
Fair Practices
Honesty and fairness are fundamental qualities that any software provider should uphold. Unfortunately, Swydo fell short in these areas.
Conclusion
Swydo’s unclear pricing, unfair billing practices, and manipulative tactics have left me feeling very disappointed in them as a company. If you’re considering Swydo for your business, proceed with caution and explore other options. Your business deserves software providers that value honesty, fairness, and transparency.
